Statement on Artwork Attribution

Several artworks have recently circulated on the secondary market that have been falsely attributed to "early works by Mohammed Sami." These include deliberate forgeries as well as works created by other artists with similar names. Some of these works have been falsely claimed to have been purchased directly from the artist’s studio, received as gifts, or even found. Mohammed Sami (Iraqi-born artist, 1984) unequivocally disowns these pieces and does not recognise them as his own.

If artworks are claimed to have been purchased directly from the artist’s studio, they must be certified by the artist and his legal team after 2021. In addition, artworks sold through his current representative galleries and duly registered in his official archive are considered authentic and authorised by the artist.

Collectors, institutions, and market participants are strongly advised to verify provenance through these official channels before acquiring works attributed to Mohammed Sami.
